Response to the Government’s announcement of £2 billion investment in Housing Associations

People should be proud of their homes says PM

It’s great news that the Prime Minister recognises the massive role that housing associations can play in tackling Britain’s housing crisis.

Whilst this funding is very welcome, our concern remains that the Government’s current method of assessing housing need in the north undershoots real demand by 13,000 homes per year.

 We need both extra funding and a proper analysis of need to tackle the specific problems in our region.
